Many find lighthouses to be romantic, mysterious, comforting. Egmont Key State Park is home to an historic lighthouse still operated by the government. The lighthouse aids ships entering Tampa Bay with navigation.
With 440 acres, this island is a wildlife refuge. Consider taking a snorkeling excursion to this island. Oh, and, you can only get there by boat!
Natural resources are the main attraction at Egmont Key. Look for gopher tortoises and the nests of loggerhead sea turtles!
